Background and Nature of Business


Genet Mineral Processing (“GMP”) was established in 2003, effecting the repair and manufacture of screens and processing equipment.
The need to design, refurbish and erect processing plants was identified in 2005 and GMP’s first coal processing plant, Mooifontein was constructed.

Significant Milestones

2021

HCI Palesa Colliery
Commenced with the construction of a 400t per hour air beneficiation plant

2020

Welgelegen Upgrade – Install high frequency screen section & upgrade DMS Drum Module
Welgelegen Upgrade – Upgrade ROM Section
Klipfontein FX Air Separation Plant
Completion in August 2020:
Install two FX20 Air Jig modules (400T/hr) and ROM section (600T/hr)
Vaalwater Colliery
Install, operate & maintain 200T/hr ROM crushing section

2019

Masimbanbane Colliery – Design, fabricate and erect 250 ton per hour crushing and screening plant.

2018

Welgelegen – Take over project and increase capacity to 120 000 ton per month

2017

Kleinfontein Colliery – Recommission plant and increase capacity to 150 000 ton per month.
Matla Colliery – FGX Air Separation plant. Established and commissioned. Capacity 150 000 ton per month.

2016

Welgelegen – Take over project and increase capacity to 120 000 ton per month
Kleinfontein Colliery – Recommission plant and increase capacity to 150 000 ton per month.
Matla Colliery – FGX Air Separation plant. Established and commissioned. Capacity 150 000 ton per month.
Inyanda Colliery – Operation of a 180 000 ton per month plant.

2015

Mooifontein Plant refurbishment of the 70 000 ton per month plant.
Klipfontein – FGX Air Separation Plant Established and commissioned. Capacity 70 000 tpm.

2014

Swartkops Manganese Terminal – 100 000 tons per month.
Mbali (HCI Coal): Plant refurbishment project.

2013

Onverdacht (Genet Mining/Xstrata Allys): Air separation FGX plant with a capacity of 120 ton per hour.

2012 – 2011

SteelCoal Plant (Glencore): 300tph 2x Cyclone plant with spiral plant.

2010

Goedehoop Plant (Muhanga Mining): Drum plant with front-end. Capacity of 120 000 tons per month;
Middelkraal Colliery (Umcebo Mining): Constructed and commissioned 2 x 240tph air separation plants. Capacity 240 000 tons per month.

2009

Kleinfontein Colliery (Umcebo Mining): Designed and constructed Cyclone plant. Capacity 120 000 tons per month;
Palesa Colliery (HCI Coal): Mobile DMS Drum Plant-Toll washing. Capacity 40 000 tons per month;
Goedehoop Plant (Muhanga Mining): Designed and constructed a cyclone plant with a capacity of 200 tons per hour;
Grootpan (Umcebo Mining): Coal crushing and screening plant with a capacity of 150 000 tons per month;
Mooifontein (Eyethu Coal): Processing plant upgrade project.

2008

Scaup Holdings (IBC) effects owner equity buy-out
Middelkraal Colliery (Umcebo Mining): Obtained ROM tip. Capacity 380 000 tons per month;
New Head Office & Main Workshop complex completed.

2007

Middelkraal Colliery (Umcebo Mining): Constructed DMS Plant with a capacity of 100 000 tons per month
Langkloof (Umcebo Mining): Erected a crushing and screening plant with a capacity of 65 000 tons per month;
Doornrug Colliery (Umcebo Mining): Constructed DMS cyclone plant with a capacity of 90 000 tons per month;
Norwesco Colliery (Umcebo Mining): Constructed ROM tip together with crushing plant. Capacity 20 000 tons per month;
Middelkraal Colliery (Umcebo Mining): Erect crushing and screening plant with a capacity of 100 000 tons per month.

2006

Umcebo Mining (Pty) Ltd. becomes a shareholder;
Umlilo Plant (Umcebo Mining): Erect crushing and screening plant with a capacity of 80 000 tons per month;
Eikeboom Plant (Fraser Alexander): Constructed a washing plant with a capacity of 140 000 tons per month;
Strathrae Plant (Umcebo Mining) Upgrade Project: 60kton to 150ktons/month;
Grootpan ROM Tip (Umcebo Mining): Constructed ROM tip with primary crushing infrastructure. Capacity 90 000 tons per month;
Kleinfontein (Umcebo Mining): Erect crushing and screening plant with a capacity of 55 000 tons per month

2005

First plant Mooifontein: build, operate and maintain. Processing Capacity 100ktons/month;
Wonderfontein Plant: Refurbished and rebuilt the crushing and screening plant with a capacity of 50 000 tons per month.

2003

Xantium established with 5 employees (Repairing screens)
